Haiti Relief Efforts

We have been in touch with several missions agencies with which Colonial is affiliated discussing their plans to provide aid to Haiti following the devastating earthquake. Using a trusted agency is essential to insure aid is appropriately disseminated and effectively used. As example, ABWE was involved in the relief efforts in Indonesia following the tsunami. Their teams were able to provide humanitarian aid through affiliated churches. After meeting immediate needs, ABWE was able to assist churches in rebuilding. Other efforts resulted in church plants. Trans World Radio is also working on plans to assist in getting a radio station on the air in Haiti and for trauma counseling programming.

Our staff will be evaluating the plans of ABWE, TWR and other agencies to determine how we'll distribute disaster relief gifts. Colonial members and attenders who would like to be financially involved through Colonial can write a check to "Colonial Baptist Church" and designate "Haiti Relief Effort" in the note section of the check. Checks can be mailed to:

Colonial Baptist Church
Attn: Haiti Relief Fund
6051 Tryon Road
Cary, NC 27518

We do not plan on accepting clothing or food donations at Colonial. Please check with other agencies for those donations.

There is a great need for prayer in this crisis. God can work and meet needs in Haiti far beyond anything we can imagine. Pray that He will be glorified even in this time of great anguish and devastation.

Evangelism Explosion

REGISTER FOR SPRING 2010 TODAY!

In the early 1990’s Evangelism Explosion (EE) became a key tool at Colonial for training the laity to develop skills in sharing their faith. The kingdom continues to be impacted through Colonial’s EE initiative. Our pastors and EE leadership are committed to continuing the momentum of EE, to visit the weekly visitors to our church and to improve the sharing of our faith through training and equipping new people.

Global Staff Focus

The Carreon family is currently serving in the Philippines. Typhoons brought destruction to the area in September and again in October causing much devastation to the country and personally to the homes of Joey's relatives. Please join us in prayer over the Carreons and their ministry to serve our God and reach the Philippino people. Pray also for the preparations being made for Colonial's ABF Holy Hands to join Joey in February 2010 to serve with the Carreon's and the needs of the community around them.
